Make money with music
Making money in music may seem hard in today’s day and age, but in reality its not. All you really have to do is (a) know how to play an instrument, or (b) sing really good. The rest is business. Once you have acquired one or both of these skills, the next step is practice. Once you have mastered your craft, you must then find an agent or go into business for yourself. It is easier than it sounds.
When you make your first dollar in the music business, it will feel so great that you will think that you’re permanently set and let it get to your head. The truth is that you shouldn’t because you feel that you have to practice less (and you do not want to fell that way). You always want to practice. You will always have to in order to make a living from your music.
Believing in yourself is also very important. If you don’t believe in yourself, you are screwed. And that is the god honest truth. This is key, especially if you are playing/performing music to make ends meet. You really want to take this kind of career seriously if you want to succeed. Otherwise you will fail, like many bands/musicians.
A lot of people think that you can just make a techno song on an internet downloaded program and be a superstar. Newsflash: That is absolutely not true whatsoever. See, the truth is that you have to have soul. Without soul, what are you, but a dreamer. There is nothing wrong with dreaming, but a far fetched dream is dangerous. It is not exactly a healthy way of thinking, let alone a good way to chase after something you really desire. That’s another thing too. If you want to make music for a living, than you really have to want it; let it become a burning passion. If not, then you will not earn your money this way.
To wrap this up, I would like to make a significant point. This advice can only get you so far. Your path is unwritten. Nobody can decide your fate in music but you. It is time to get into action (if you have already not done so) and kick this thing into gear. Because if you don’t now, when will you? Procrastination is very bad, though a habit in many lives. A career in music = no procrastinating.
