Britain’s rich list has a brand new member that goes by the name of Jamie Oliver. The TV chef has an estimated wealth of £65million – despite his more than generous charity work.
Jamie Oliver has recently been encouraging America to lose pounds and on the other side of the Atlantic he is appearing in Sainsbury’s ads. He is also keeping busy hosting many cookery programs.
Jamie Oliver has donated an estimated £2.7million, making him one of the most generous people in Britain. Much of Jamie’s charitable donations have been made through The Jamie Oliver foundation. The foundation was set up in 2002 to train disadvantaged young people as chefs. 120 people have successfully been trained.
The hit chef is still earning it as fast with his US television hit show making him an extra £25million in the past 12 months.
The show is called Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution and sees the chef spending his time trying to persuade Americans to cut down the huge amount of fast food they eat, and to improve the diet of children in the United States.
Jamie has started a petition to improve school dinners in America – which he plans to present to the White House. The petition is gathering huge support and has already attracted more than 350,000 signatures.
Jamie Oliver has risen to new levels by joining the Sunday Times Rich List and is set to go from strength to strength over the next 12 months.
