Cheryl Cole: Are good looks all you need?

Cheryl Cole… Have you heard of her?  Well she’s a working class girl from Newcastle from England who rose to fame with the group Girls Aloud.

The pretty Geordie star further came to prominence as a judge on the UK version of X-factor and now it’s the United States turn to listen to her opinions as she has landed a one-year, $2 million contract to appear on the new American version of X Factor.

The singer is a virtual unknown in the States however Simon Cowell has gone out on a limb and gave her 12 months win over American hearts.  The 27-year-old be a judge alongside Cowell, Paula Abdul and Antonio ‘L. A.’ Reid

So what makes Cheryl Cole the ideal person to tell someone if they are good enough to make it in the music business?  To be honest, the only major piece of “talent” that Cheryl Cole has is her good looks!

Now before you start on me, let’s look at this objectively!  Cheryl is an OK singer and can hold a note but if she weighed 200lbs and wasn’t so attractive, she would be living a completely different life right now.

It has actually been reported recently that Cheryl Cole is being pursued by Hollywood studio chiefs that are said to be desperate to capitalise on her X-Factor fame.

Renowned producer Harvey Weinstein is said to be after her “talents”

“I want to put Cheryl Cole in one of my films,” he declared.

Cole caused a media storm in a sexy dress at the Cannes première of Habemus Papum.  The fact that Cole has a very limited previous acting career shows that it’s her looks that is prompting these Hollywood chiefs to go after her.

We believe you should play to your strengths if you want to become a success in life and there’s no doubt that Cheryl Cole is doing that.

Cheryl Cole has got to where she is today because her looks and not her talent and only time will tell if the American public will be won over by those looks.
